The Lincoln Community High School Railsplitters
Cross Country team went to Manito on October 20, 2020 in a
recently added meet that included four other teams.
"We had a pretty good night, although the rain made it cold and
wet," said Coach Andrew Hite. "The other schools there were
Midwest Central, Illini Bluffs, Delavan, and Pleasant Plains."
"The course was altered due to a fallen tree, so it was slightly
different for the runners," noted Hite.
The Lincoln boys finished with the top five runners to take
first place as a team. Brenden Heitzig finished first, followed
by Garrett Slack, Aidan Gowin, Drake Rutledge, and Jalen Franz.
The girls earned second place behind Pleasant Plains. Becca
Heitzig finished first, Reese McCuan finished third, and Hattie
Mourning finished sixth.
Pleasant Plains placed seven runners in the top
ten.
Up next for the Railers are Regionals on Saturday, October 24,
2020 in Jacksonville.
