							As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's

issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

			 To the editor:I don't know
all the right words to say it, but I know what I feel in my heart.
I am tired of all the bad-mouthing of the police.
The majority of the people who serve in blue are there to make a
difference and help people.  I have known many police officers
across the state, and they have been there to help people when they
didn't think things could get worse.
Police officers put their lives on the line every
single day so that you and I don't have to live in fear.  Each
of us should be on our knees thanking them.

[to top of second column in this letter] |

I support the police, not only of Lincoln, Logan
County, or Illinois, but all police everywhere.  "We back the
			blue."
