[November 14, 2020]  MINIER - Charles A. Chase, 72, of Minier passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Unity Point Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

Service:  Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Gaines Cemetery in rural Minier.

Charles A. Chase, 72, of Minier passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2020, at Unity Pointe Methodist Hospital in Peoria.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Gaines Cemetery in rural Minier.

CDC guidelines for social distancing and face coverings will be observed.

Charles A. Chase was born January 19, 1948, in Coon Rapids, Iowa, the son of Benjamin W. and Iris A. Spencer Chase. He was united in marriage with his high school sweetheart, Sarann McCurdy on June 4, 1965. They shared 55 years of marriage. She survives.

Charles is also survived by their children: Louis Benjamin (Susan) Chase, Charlin K. (Joe) Dial, Alicia (Jason) Sanders, and Adam (Kristi) Chase; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. one brother; and five sisters.

 

Funeral Director

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and three sisters.

Charles graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1966. He then graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.S. in Science and Math Education. Charles taught physics and science in Iowa and Illinois and retired from the Olympia School District in 2008. He also coached football and track. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.
