Obituary
John T. "Pawpaw" Short, 57, of Beason,
passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 17,
2020, at his home, in the company of his wife.
No services are scheduled. Cremation Rites have been
accorded.
John T. Short was born on November 16, 1963 in
Independence, Missouri, the son of Richard Thomas
and Eileen Depew Short. He was united in marriage
with Diana Ross on June 8, 1988. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughters: Kenna M. (Jason)
Schafer and Brianna (Keith) Eads; six grandchildren:
Bradley Schafer, Zachary Schafer, Adam Schafer, Ivy
Pierce, Deagan Eads, and Autumn Strohl; one sister:
Tara Wolcott; and several aunts, uncles, and
cousins.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
John graduated from Springfield South
East High School in 1981 and St. John's School of
Nursing. |
He was employed as a Paramedic at
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital and at Logan
County Paramedic Association for 24 years.
John was an amazing man who touched the lives of
many and would always go out of his way to help
others. He was a kind, strong, and quiet individual
who loved gardening and his dogs: Leroy and Bandit
very much.
In lieu of flowers or donations, John requested that
after his passing everyone go out and perform one
act of kindness.
