Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" W. Thompson, 86. of
Lincoln, passed away at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday,
September 27, 2020, at The Christian Village in
Lincoln.
Private family services will be held. Cremation
Rites have been accorded.
Elizabeth Wicker was born April 5, 1934, in
Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of the Rev.
Norvell and Marion Bailey Wicker. She was united in
marriage with Donald H. Thompson on December 22,
1956. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2005.
Betty in survived by one daughter, Elizabeth (Bob)
Twyman of Middletown; four grandchildren: Jason
Allen, Stephanie Lonsdale, Peyton Anderson, and
Brock Twyman; and four great-grandchildren: Killyian,
Madison, Dawn, and Kaitlynn.
She was preceded in death by her
husband; one son, Donald B. Thompson; and one
brother, Novell Wicker, Jr. |
Betty was a member of Holy Trinity
Episcopal Church in Atlanta, Ga. She attended the
Trinity Episcopal Church in Lincoln. She was an
accomplished floral arranger who showed her skills
and talents in world flowers shows in places such as
Chelsea, England and South Africa.
Memorials may be made to the Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram Peasley
Funeral Home of Atlanta.
