LINCOLN
- On Saturday, October 3rd, the Lincoln Park District held a
fundraiser called Spin® 4 Schools for Chester East Lincoln School.
LPD's fitness manager and certified Spin trainer
Jennifer Prather wanted to develop a way to help local schools and
show community support.

She sent word to all the schools that they could be
beneficiaries of a fundraiser being held at the LPD.
Chester East Lincoln (CEL) submitted an essay stating what they
could use the funds for at their school.
CEL Superintendent Laura Irwin stated, "Funding continues to be a
concern for Chester-East Lincoln as well as many other districts due
to the pandemic and cost of offering in-person learning for our
students. This year our enrollment is up, and we have a growing need
for technology for our students."
Lincoln Park District was excited to partner with the school
district.
"You don't have to be an experienced Spin or indoor cycling rider to
attend a fundraiser like this one. Just show up, and our certified
SPINNING® instructors will set you up on the bike and explain how
the bike works. It is that simple!" said Prather.
Even with the pandemic, both CEL and the Lincoln Park District
wanted to make this fundraiser happen.
