Gallagher's deal is for six years and $39
million and runs through the 2026-27 season. Allen's extension
is for two years and $5.75 million through 2022-23.
Gallagher, 28, registered 43 points (22 goals, 21 assists) in 59
games during the 2019-20 season. He added a goal and three
assists in nine games during the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The alternate captain has led or shared the team lead in goals
in three straight seasons.
Drafted by Montreal in the fifth round in 2010, Gallagher has
334 points (173 goals, 161 assists) in 547 games since making
his Canadiens debut in January 2013. He has 25 points in 49
postseason games.
Allen was acquired from the St. Louis Blues on Sept. 2 in
exchange for a third-round pick and a seventh-round selection in
the 2020 NHL Draft. The Canadiens also received the Blues'
seventh-round pick in 2022.
Allen appeared in 24 games (21 starts) in 2019-20, posting a
12-6-3 record with a 2.15 goals-against average, .927 save
percentage and two shutouts in the regular season.
Allen, 30, started four of the six games in the postseason for
the Blues, who lost to 4-2 to the Vancouver Canucks in the first
round of the Western Conference playoffs. He had a 2-1-1 record
with a 1.89 GAA and .935 save percentage.
In 289 career games, Allen has a record of 148-94-26 with a 2.50
GAA, a .913 save percentage and 21 shutouts.
