 To the editor:As we think of
those in great need of a nutritious meal and news of the Savior, we
are so grateful for the Harvest of Talents ministry in cooperation
with International Disaster Emergency Service ~ with the talents,
time, and resources you give, God is multiplying it all, answering
prayers of the hungry, and making hope come alive! Our tag line is
“building bridges of hope in Jesus’ name, since 1984”, and, for 37
years, we can testify to God’s faithfulness and blessings. Now, in
the midst of a world pandemic, we understand that hunger needs are
greater than ever in our Harvest history! Sadly, due to the virus,
we are restricted in our gatherings and missing our familiar Harvest
events; however, since the Harvest belongs to the Lord, He is
revealing new pathways, new talents, and renewed hope! Before the
virus hit, our special event license plates were designed with HOPE
as the focal point … as it turns out, hope has become ever more
precious.
And, so, on behalf of our terrific volunteers, I want to thank YOU ~
EACH of you ~ for your patience, trust, and participation in our
online Harvest activities this fall! Many of you have gone to our
website, www.harvestoftalents.org and ordered our familiar vegetable
beef soup and cinnamon & caramel pecan rolls, donated online,
purchased handcrafted items from our new online shop, picked up
fantastic jams/jelly, baked goods, candy, and novelties from our
‘Harvest from Home’ vendors, signed up for our online
30-Days-of-Prayer devotional calendar, and are bidding on our
65-item online auction that ends Wednesday evening.

Thank you for joining in the fun on our Facebook page
for updates and daily silent auctions and this Tuesday evening’s
Facebook Live sale. Saturday morning (October 24), our gourmet snack
tent, X O Café, will serve drive-through customers in the Elks Club
neighborhood as the final Harvest event before we count every penny
of this year’s Harvest and present the full amount to IDES on Sunday
morning at Lincoln Christian Church.
While this year has been quite different, we are reminded that EACH
Harvest is successful and not in competition with any other year’s
offering amount, because God multiplies the fruit of our efforts
according to His purpose. We will once again rejoice with tears in
our eyes when we, like the little boy who gave Jesus his simple
lunch, give Jesus our humble offering from the 37th Harvest. Thank
you for your ongoing support of Harvest of Talents!
