Colton Hagan, son of Christopher and Jackie Hagan of Mt.
Pulaski, has been named October Senior of the month at Mount Pulaski
High School. He was selected for this honor based on the criteria of
scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Throughout his time at MPHS, Colton has stayed actively involved in
sports and activities. He has played Basketball and ran Track for 4
years and play Football for 3 years. He has also been on Yearbook
Crew, Drama Club, and Spanish Club for 2 years and a member of FFA
for 1 year. He has also been actively involved in FCCLA. He is
currently the Chapter President and is also serving as the Vice
President of Competitive Events as an Illinois FCCLA State Officer.
For the 2019-20 school year, Colton served as the FCCLA chapter
Secretary.
Colton earned the Hustle Award for Basketball and placed 3rd at
Sectionals in Track in the 2 mile. He also placed 4th at Sectionals
in the 1 mile in 2019. He has been on Honor Roll all 4 years and has
been named Woods 2, Woods 3, and US History student of the year.
Outside of school, Colton stays just as busy. He has worked as a
Corn Technician for Gro Alliance, Wibben Detasseling, and a lawn
service worker. He has worked concession for basketball games and
has participated in the Decatur Cure Cancer 5K and volunteers at the
Logan County Humane Society.

Colton plans to attend a four- year university and major in
Physical Education. He would also like to coach, ne in the National Guard, and
play a sport.
The Senior-of-the-Month program is sponsored by Conaway Handyman Service and
Downing, Przykopanski, Clements, & May Insurance Agency, Inc.. They are also in
the running for the $500 Senior-of-the-Year award sponsored by Illinois National
Bank.
