Over the past six months, a Daycare Steering Committee has formed to address the need for a Community Daycare facility in Mount Pulaski.

The committee worked with current daycare providers such as Debby Aylesworth, Bobbie Taylor, and Michelle Hagenbuch to create plans for a Community Daycare facility. This new facility would benefit these existing businesses by moving their service to a shared facility and out of their homes.

The committee has also been working with Megan Jones and Ashley Burgaurd on determining the need for before and after school programming for school-aged children.

The Daycare Steering Committee is made up of about 12 hard-working members of the Mount Pulaski community. These caring individuals are
coming together to create a solution for the community's needs. Members have also been in contact with the Lincoln Area YMCA to discuss the possibility of a partnership between the YMCA and the community to facilitate a Community Daycare facility in Mount Pulaski.

"This is an exciting development in the planning process, and it brings us
to the point where we need to get a better idea of the current need for
daycare options of the community," said the committee.

The Daycare Steering Committee has created a short, voluntary survey to get an idea of families' needs within the community. Please take this voluntary survey to help in the important step of gathering information on the community's needs.
