 New guidelines and processes that have been
implemented this fall include: mandatory face-coverings, new
cleaning and disinfecting procedures, observing physical distancing
in classrooms and common areas, installing sanitation stations and
providing disinfecting wipes, and hanging signage displaying the new
requirements.
Unfortunately, despite following best practices and guidance from
local and state health agencies, a member of our campus community
received a positive test result for COVID-19 (coronavirus). This is
the first confirmed case connected to Lincoln College.
Facilities on campus that have been impacted were identified and are
currently undergoing rigorous targeted cleaning and disinfecting.
These steps will be taken in accordance with the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Environmental Cleaning and
Disinfection Recommendations.
Any persons who may have had close contact with the individual who
tested positive for COVID-19 have been notified by the Logan County
Health Department or the Lincoln College Health Services Office. Per
CDC guidance, close contact is defined as any individual who was
within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes starting
from 2 days before illness onset (for asymptomatic patients, 2 days
prior to positive test collection) until the time the patient is
isolated.
Lincoln College students, faculty, and staff are
asked to report any exposure or symptoms of COVID-19 to the Lincoln
College Health Services Office. Exposed or symptomatic students
living off-campus, as well as employees, are instructed to remain at
their home residence, following CDC quarantine and isolation
guidelines.

Anyone living on-campus will be moved to designated
campus housing. Wellness checks, meals, and other necessities are
provided to residential students.
With COVID-19 cases rapidly increasing in Logan County, this
development is a reminder that the virus can affect anyone. Lincoln
College will continue to partner with the Logan County Health
Department, and follow recommendations from state and federal health
authorities, to prevent additional impacts on our campus or the
surrounding communities.
Personal accountability at Lincoln College continues
to be key in reducing the transmission of illness and remaining open
for in-person learning. The campus community is encouraged to adhere
to good hygiene practices and staff are strictly enforcing the
student conduct policies related to mask-wearing, social distancing,
and other new safety processes.
Operations will be adjusted accordingly to protect Lincoln College
faculty, staff, and students, and minimize the spread of COVID-19.
Lincoln College will remain vigilant in providing information and
reporting confirmed cases as it pertains to COVID-19.
