Lincoln Heritage Museum Hosts Week of Celebration
Virtual fundraiser will replace annual Soiree for 2020

 

[September 03, 2020]    In lieu of the 2020 Grand Soirée, Lincoln Heritage Museum at Lincoln College will host the Week of Celebration, a virtual fundraiser celebrating the life and stories of Abraham Lincoln and the Lincoln Heritage Museum September 21-25.

Due to ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, Lincoln Heritage Museum made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Grand Soirée. Due to the cancelation LHM stands to lose $80,000+ in important funding. Lincoln Heritage Museum funding supports the acquisition or preservation of important artifacts, creation of new exhibits, educational outreach and the development of free community programming.

“The Week of Celebration is totally different than anything Lincoln Heritage Museum has done before,” said Olivia Partlow, Interim Director of Lincoln Heritage Museum. “Working with the local community to create virtual content has been so rewarding. I’m very excited to have the opportunity to highlight all the good that LHM does for the Logan County community.”

Viewers can expect to see exciting content about Abraham Lincoln, raffle drawings and prizes, and hear from community members, students, and volunteers about Lincoln Heritage Museum’s impact on the community during the Week of Celebration.

During the Week of Celebration, the community has the chance to enter to win the Puzzle Piece Raffle $250 cash prize! LHM volunteers have put together a 250 piece Abraham Lincoln puzzle. Each puzzle piece is for sale for $10. One puzzle piece will be drawn at random on Friday, September 25. The winner will then be notified and posted on LHM social media. 

Viewers can also participate in the Celebration Wine Pull where $20 buys a randomly selected bottle of wine. Wine ranges in value from $5-$150 and there are several bottles valued over $50! Wine will be available for curbside pick-up at LHM during regular business hours September 21-October 2. Please call LHM to schedule a pick up.
