 I was appointed to fill a vacant seat
in District 6 just over a year ago, and since that time I have been
dedicated to my duty as a public servant representing the people of
District 6. As soon as I was sworn in I dove into researching issues
that were facing the Board at the time, seeking to be informed on
those issues so that I could take an educated stance. My dedication
to be educated on the issues that face the board continues today,
and I can say that I have never been just another vote or just
filling a seat on the board.
Since joining the board, I have especially been interested in
reviewing ways that Logan County can become more efficient and save
money in the way of technology, and I am proud to say that the work
I have done to that end has saved a substantial amount of money for
the County already, including negotiating a copier contract that has
saved the County over $1,000 annually.
I have also been heavily involved in the Courthouse restoration
project since joining the board. I put in countless hours outside of
board meetings to ensure that voters were educated about the issues
with the courthouse and that they understood the gravity of the
situation. I have offered input when necessary as to the scope of
the overall project. Further, I did not vote in favor of anything
related to this project without first being confident that the funds
would be spent appropriately. I hope to continue to see the
restoration project through to completion.
When I joined the board, budget review was already well underway,
but I have identified several areas in which I would like to see
change with the budget moving forward. Rest assured that I will be
attending finance committee meetings in the coming months to make my
thoughts known to the members of that committee. Further, I will not
vote in favor of any proposed budget that is not a balanced budget.

 Since joining the board, I have been
a consistent champion for increasing the Board’s transparency to the
public, and I have plans to bring the County Board into the 21st
Century by live-streaming our county meetings, thereby improving
public access to Board meetings.
My record as a current County Board member can speak for itself as I
have consistently voted in favor of things that will drive economic
growth within Logan County and against things that will hinder
growth.
Much of the things that I have been working on take time to
implement, and I hope to be able to see them through to completion
in the coming months and years.
I agree that District 6 needs a strong leader who can make the tough
decisions that are best for the hard-working citizens of Logan
County. I would argue, however, that District 6 already has one.

citizens of District 6 and Logan County as a whole by voting for me
