Terry was born on May 13, 1958 in Lincoln, son of John William Rufus and Ethel Marie (Allison) Hyde. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Thaddeus Douglas and Robert; and his stepmother, Donna Huey whom helped raise him.

He is survived by his life companion: Catherine “Peggy” Boggoch, his children: Kristina (Deacon Hopper) Hyde, William (Brandy Polan) Hyde, and Teresa (James Lolling) Hyde; two brothers: Timothy (Jerianne) Hyde and Tobias (Amy) Hyde; one sister-in-law: Shari Hyde; grandchildren: Shala Hyde, Quinten Palmer, Madison Palmer, Jayden Palmer, Seth Alan, Hope Grigsby, Raquelle Hyde, Emily Hyde, Terrance Hyde, Ashtin Hyde, Dalton Hyde, Gabriel Zapata, Cirillia Zapata, Jameson Lolling, and eight great-grandchildren.
