These plastic tubs are filled with books and delivered across the
IHLS area that stretches from central Illinois to the southern
reaches of the state.
Each tub filled with library resources from all over is sequestered
for seven days to meet covid-19 safety guidelines. Items from
Lincoln are loaded onto an IHLS van to journey to their next
destination. The tubs are disinfected after each use.
The Lincoln Public Library also sequesters their own returned books
for seven days before they are re-shelved.

one of seven routes radiating out from the Champaign hub. |

This is one of 22 vans that bring an amazing array of library
material to stops throughout the Illinois Heartland Library System.
Each van is equipped with an emergency GPS system that ensures the
driver is safe should something unforeseen happen enroute. The
drivers are the final judge to determine if driving conditions are
not safe. |
