Nominating petitions available for Heartland 2021 Board of Trustees election

[September 25, 2020]  Nominating petitions are now available for those seeking a seat on the Heartland Community College Board of Trustees.

Individuals interested in seeking a position on the District 540 Board of Trustees in the April 6, 2021 election may pick up required nominating petitions at the Heartland Community College executive office, which is located in the Community Commons Building, Suite 2000 at 1500 W. Raab Road, Normal. Requests for petitions can also be directed to the office by phone at 309-268-8103 or by emailing laura.mai@
heartland.edu.

Visitors entering buildings on the Heartland Community College Campus are required to adhere to the College Standard of Care, which includes the wearing of face coverings while indoors.

The first day that nominating petitions may be circulated is September 22, 2020.

Petitions must be returned to the executive office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. December 14 through 18, 2020 and December 21, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

There are two six-year term positions open on the Heartland Board of Trustees commencing no later than May 4, 2021. The remainder of the unexpired term of the late Gregg Chadwick will also be open. There will be two years remaining on this term.

To be eligible, candidates are required to complete the nominating petitions by collecting signatures from 50 registered voters from within the Heartland Community College district. Candidates must be 18 years old, a citizen of the United States and reside within the State of Illinois and District 540 for at least one year as of the election.
