a.m. at the Lincoln American Legion Post #263.

Obituary
Joyce E. Hyde, 83, was a caring wife,
mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She
left this earth and went to her heavenly home on
Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
A Celebration of Joyce's life will be held on
Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Lincoln American Legion Post #263.
A Family graveside service will be held at 10:00
a.m. on Saturday April 17, 2021 at Holy Cross
Cemetery.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later
date.
Joyce Elaine Sullivan was born on April 15, 1937, in
Lincoln, the daughter of Berlyn Ernest and Mary
Elizabeth Slack Sullivan. She was united in marriage
to Lionel Everett “Dutch” Hyde Jr. on July 17, 1954.
He preceded her in death on January 14, 1995.
Surviving Mrs. Hyde are her children: John Steven
(Ruth) Hyde of Beason, Joseph Patrick Hyde and
Jeffrey Sean (Amy) Hyde both of Lincoln; ten
grandchildren: Amanda Romero, April (Tracey)
Matherly, Katrina Fouty, Jodi (Toro) Thompson, John
Steven (Spring) Hyde, Jr., Jordan Hyde, Kayla
(Brandon Quisenberry) Hyde, Jacob (Caitlin) Hyde,
and Elaine Hyde; and many great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her
husband, two daughters: Marguerite Romero and
Melanie Lynn Hyde; two sons: Thomas Delmar Hyde and
James Kevin Hyde, and granddaughter Stacey Lynn
Fillmore.
Joyce had been employed at WalMart. She was a member
of Holy Family Catholic Church, Daughters of
Isabella, Beta Sigma Phi, American Legion Auxiliary,
and the Oasis Senior Center.
Joyce was a devote believer in Jesus and enjoyed
baking cakes, reading, crocheting, embroidery, and
sewing.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer
Society.
