Obituary
Bonnie Welch, 95, of Lincoln passed
away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at The Christian
Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.
Cremation Rites have been accorded.
Bonnie J. Edwards was born on October 16, 1925 in
Murphysboro the daughter of Ernest and Naomi Meyer
Edwards. She was united in marriage to Duewell D.
Welch on July 18, 1948. He preceded her in death on
April 13, 2014 in Lincoln.
She is survived by her daughter: Renee (John)
Dreusicke , one granddaughter : Laine Sutkay (Eric)
and two great grandsons as well as several nieces
and nephews. She was preceded in death by her
parents, one sister and two brothers.
Bonnie graduated from Lincoln Community High School
and worked at Lincoln College and the Logan County
Courthouse before opening her own business.

She shared her interest in knitting,
crocheting and needlework with many people as the
owner of the Sit and Knit Shop in Lincoln.
She loved Christmas and initiated the candle
lighting in the Logan County Courthouse windows.
Bonnie was a member of First United Methodist
Church.
Memorials may be made to The Christian Village, in
appreciation for the care Bonnie received as a
resident of the congregate apartments and the
nursing home.
Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
