Obituary
Audrey Welty, 90, of Lincoln,
formerly of Macomb, went to be with her Lord and
Savior on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at The Christian
Village in Lincoln.
Audrey was born on September 4, 1930, in DuBois, PA,
the daughter of Calvin and Hannah Green. She was
United in marriage to Gerald David Welty on February
1, 1953, in DuBois, PA. He survives in Lincoln at
The Christian Village.
Also surviving Audrey are her children: Ellen (Kirk)
Dobihal of Lincoln, Mark (Sue) Welty of Broken
Arrow, OK, and Paul (Lila) Welty of Reidsville, NC;
her seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents and
dearly loved sister, Cleora Bolam.
Audrey graduated from Western
Illinois University with a BA and then obtained a
master’s degree in library science. She served as a
librarian 20 years in Macomb School District 185.
Audrey was a charter member of Maple Avenue
Christian Church in Macomb where she taught Sunday
School, Vacation Bible School, and delighted
everyone with her delicious meals and homemade pies.

Following retirement, Audrey enjoyed
traveling, family gatherings, reading, gardening and
needlework. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma
and Illinois Library Association.
Audrey’s family extends their sincere thanks to the
staff at the Memory Care Unit of The Christian
Village of Lincoln.
A memorial service for Audrey will be held at 1:00
p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at First
Presbyterian Church, Lincoln, with Ryan Edgecombe
officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded by
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home. A private
inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in
Macomb at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made
in Audrey’s name to Maple Avenue Christian Church
Building Program, Macomb.
