[August 09, 2021]  NORTH CAROLINA  - Betty L. York, 86, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on August 4, 2021, at Wake Medical Hospital in Cary, N.C.

Visitation:  4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln

Service:  Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Lincoln Christian Church in Lincoln

Obituary

Betty L. York, 86, formerly of Lincoln, passed away on August 4, 2021, at Wake Medical Hospital in Cary, N.C.

Betty was born on July 4, 1935, in Carlinville, daughter of Harry and Lela (Barnes) Schnittker. Betty married Jim York on January 28, 1955. Jim preceded her in death on March 28, 1994.

Surviving Betty are her children, Steve (Esther) York of Spokane, WA, Michael (Nicole) York of Fuquay-Varina, NC, and Diane (Robert) Fowler of Fort Myers, FL; Her five grandsons, Jim, Bradley, Stephen, Aaron, and Ryan; and several great-grandchildren.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; and her brothers, John Schnittker and William Schnittker.

Betty was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church for many years. She worked at the Lincoln Recreation Center for 20 years. She also worked for the Economy Insurance Company.

Services for Betty will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at Lincoln Christian Church in Lincoln. Visitation will take place from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Lincoln. Burial will follow the services at Zion Cemetery in Lincoln.

Memorials may be made in Betty’s name to Autism Speaks.
