 The truth is goats say "maaa" while sheep say "baaa."
Goat calls may sound the same to us but they seem to know when one
of the herd is happy or sad from the bleats alone.
Goats are social animals and thrive on interaction between each
other as well as human companions. Because most goats are small,
easy to work with and require a small amount of space, they provide
a meaningful livestock experience in a short amount of time. Happy
goats are easygoing and do not require a whole lot of extra care and
maintenance.
The 2021 Goat Show took place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 4th.
Cody Zeeck, no stranger to the Logan County Fair, traveled from
Havana to judge the goat show. Zeeck handed out many "blue awards"
as the competition progressed. A blue ribbon, representing
excellence, is awarded to those entries that exceed the average
standard for a particular class.
It was a small pool of exhibitors, yet many took home more than one
ribbon for this year's competition.
