Samuel suffered the injury during the early portion of practice,
was treated on the field by the team's training staff and
further evaluated in a medical tent at the Chargers' training
camp facility.
Samuel later returned to practice but was relegated to being a
spectator.
"Deebo, he had a tight glute today, so he pulled himself out of
practice," San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan told local
radio station KNBR. "I know he's getting the MRI right now, so
I'm in the same boat as you guys are. I'm sitting here waiting
to get the news back."
Samuel, 25, has 90 receptions for 1,193 yards and seven total
touchdowns in two NFL seasons.
The South Carolina product missed nine games last season with
foot and hamstring injuries.
