[August 26, 2021]   The Carolina Panthers traded linebacker Denzel Perryman and a 2022 seventh-round draft pick to the Las Vegas Raiders for the Raiders' 2022 sixth-round selection, the Panthers announced Wednesday.

Perryman, 28, signed a two-year contract with Carolina as a free agent in March. He dealt with a hip flexor injury for part of training camp and lagged behind middle linebacker Jermaine Carter on the unofficial depth chart.

A second-round draft pick of the then-San Diego Chargers in 2015, Perryman played 69 games (51 starts) over six seasons with the Chargers before entering free agency after the 2020 season. He has 349 tackles, five sacks, three forced fumbles and three interceptions in his career.

New Raiders defensive coordinator Gus Bradley worked with Perryman as the Chargers' coordinator from 2017 to 2020.
