It's Lowe's second stint with the Cavaliers, having served while
Mike Fratello was the head coach from 1994-99. Lowe was an
assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons over the past three
seasons.
"Sidney brings a wealth of coaching experience and familiarity
to our staff," Bickerstaff said. "He is a great teacher of the
game and his ability to build lasting relationships across the
board is integral to the growth of our overall culture here in
Cleveland."
Lowe, 61, was a two-time head coach in the league, going 79-228
in parts of five seasons in charge of the Minnesota Timberwolves
(1992-94) and Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies (2000-03).
Lowe played college ball for North Carolina State before
spending parts of four seasons in the NBA with the Indiana
Pacers, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets and
Minnesota.
