Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor: I want to
thank the community for the wonderful response to the veteran banner
program. We had 89 banners hung throughout the community.
The city employees did a tremendous job getting
the banners hung, dodging the rain.
So many people have commented about the pride that
Mount Pulaski has always shown its veterans.
A special thank you goes to Mayor Bobell who
encouraged me numerous times.

We are accepting names of people who would like to
be involved in the program next year. Please stop by Salt
Creek Attic of call Phyllis Beccue at 217-652-7314.
Please remember to thank the veterans for their
service and ask God to continue to bless our country and protect our
troops.
Phyllis Beccue
On behalf of the Ladies Auxiliary
