Organizing the food baskets is an annual
Thanksgiving tradition at the nonprofit hospital, where employees
have donated food baskets every year to the Lincoln/Logan County
Food Pantry for at least nine years. This year they were also able
to donate baskets to CAPCIL (Community Action Partnership of Central
Illinois).
“The crux of our hospital’s mission is to promote health and
wellness in our community,” said Dolan Dalpoas, president and CEO of
Lincoln Memorial Hospital. “I’m proud of the colleagues at LMH for
organizing our food basket drive year after year. With each basket,
we are not only helping families access nourishment; each basket is
an opportunity for community members to share a holiday meal with
loved ones, which can make a positive impact on mental and emotional
health as well.”

Each basket contained ingredients to prepare several traditional
Thanksgiving side dishes and desserts. A gift card was also included to assist
with the purchase of a turkey and perishable items. Some baskets contained small
gifts for children, such as coloring books and craft kits.
