The Lincoln Arts Institute in Lincoln hosted a very special guest on Saturday. Mrs. Claus was on hand twice during the day to read a story book to excited children.

The first session took place in the morning and saw a large attendance of children and parents there to enjoy a special time with Mrs. Claus. She read a story book with a Christmas theme to the children who were then invited to participate in a holiday craft project.

In the afternoon, the second session with Mrs. Claus saw fewer children but was no less enjoyable for the Missus, who is often in the sidelines with her husband Santa Claus stealing the show.

The children also enjoyed the event because, with a smaller number, Mrs. Claus pulled her chair up close and the kids knew that she was reading just to them.

The book she chose was “Who will guide my sleigh tonight?” While many will recognize a similar line in the song about Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, the book was about something else. It was a story of the process that Santa went through ions ago, deciding what creature would be the very best choice for pulling the huge sleigh packed full of toys and Santa too.

Children and adults alike were warmly greeting by Mrs. Claus along with Arts Institute owners Jason Hoffman and Marcia Cook and the “rock lady” Mandy Cordray.

Cook said it was a fun event to offer during Small Business Saturday. She is hopeful that the event will become an annual tradition in Lincoln.
