McDonnough joined Lincoln Memorial Hospital in 2014. Since the start
of the COVID-19 pandemic, McDonnough has made hundreds of patient
specimen deliveries to COVID-19 testing facilities in Springfield to
ensure patients would not have to delay a procedure to wait on
COVID-19 test results. He also spent “many, many” weekends helping
co-workers collect COVID-19 swabs and organize paperwork, said
hospital officials.
“Pat is always willing to make trips [to supply facilities in
Springfield] during off hours for our regular couriers. Our jobs
would be so much more stressful without him,” said one of
McDonnough’s co-workers, who nominated him to receive recognition.
