Obituary
Elizabeth B. Brackney, 95, of
Lincoln, passed away December 14, 2021 at her home.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, December
22, 2021at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.
Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Tim
Searby officiating. Cremation rites will then be
accorded and burial at New Union Cemetery will be at
a later date.
Elizabeth was born July 11, 1926 in Lovington, IL.,
the daughter of Daniel and Phoebe "Bethel" (Corbin)
Boatman. She married Albert J. "AJ" Brackney on
February 4, 1950. He preceded her in death on
September 3, 2003.
She was a long time member of Lincoln Christian
Church where she was active in the Beacon Sunday
School Class, SARA Circle, Quilting Group, and Jolly
Seniors.

Survivors include her children: John Brackney (Joan) of Peoria,
IL., David Brackney (Pat) Brackney of Chandler, AZ., and Ruth Eshelman (Bill) of
Alexandria, VA.; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren as well as nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Joy Jackson (Harry)
and Louise Schmidgall (Ed), and brother Carl Boatman (Ruth).
Memorial donations may be made to Lincoln Christian Church, Logan County Food
Pantry, or to St. Clara's Manor.
