Heartland Community College’s (HCC) Health Sciences department
celebrated the 2021 Radiography graduates who, despite challenges
presented by the pandemic, completed on schedule.

This
cohort of graduates began their coursework at Heartland in January
2020, just prior to the transition to virtual learning warranted by
the COVID-19 pandemic. The students were originally targeted to
graduate in December of 2021, but restrictions in available
in-person clinical hours put that date in jeopardy. Initially, the
graduation date was pushed back to March 2022. But, through intense
dedication to making up required clinical hours, the class remained
on track and completed their coursework in alignment with their
original target date.
“This group of amazing individuals have demonstrated great
resilience and determination,” said Jo Gramley, Director and
Associate Professor of Radiography. “These graduates will contribute
their skills and creativity to the medical community near and far
for years to come.”
Earlier
this month HCC Radiography grads were celebrated in a private
pinning ceremony.
