[December 22, 2021]  Lincoln Memorial Hospital earned recognition from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) for the nonprofit hospital’s effective use of advanced technology in its clinical and business programs.

The 2021 CHIME Digital Health Most Wired recognition is awarded to health care organizations that demonstrate effective use of technology in clinical and nonclinical areas in four categories.

Lincoln Memorial Hospital earned a Level 7 certification, out of 10 levels. The CHIME Digital Health Most Wired program conducts annual surveys to assess how each participating organization uses technology. The surveys examine how health care organizations adopt and integrate technology at all stages of development.

One of the largest tech-related projects completed at Lincoln Memorial Hospital in the past 18 months involved the integration of various information systems at the hospital into one system, which significantly increases safety and efficiency in patient care.

Another project involved connecting patient monitors with the hospital’s electronic medical record, or EMR, to allow clinicians a more streamlined documentation process. Also implemented was a process allowing Lincoln Memorial Hospital to quickly and accurately report COVID-19 vaccination information to the state of Illinois.

“Lincoln Memorial Hospital invests significant amounts of resources to ensure our information systems can support high-quality health care throughout our hospital,” said Dolan Dalpoas, president and CEO of Lincoln Memorial Hospital. “Even through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, our IS team made great advancements in tech utilization. The CHIME recognition confirms that commitment.”
