Quality Inn in Lincoln offers Amazon Lockers for shipping and receiving convenience

Many Americans are now regular shoppers on Amazon including a large number in the Logan County Area. Most of the time, the biggest issue for shoppers is that they are not at home during the day and do not want packages left on their door steps exposed to weather conditions and possible theft.

In addition, there is currently a desire among many people to have a “contactless” experience due to the coronavirus.

Amazon has addressed both of these concerns by establishing the Amazon Locker System, and Quality Inn in Lincoln is happy to bring this convenience to Logan County.

Quality Inn Manager Kenna Schafer explained how it works. “When you use the locker for delivery, the carrier will drop off the package and scan the code. A door will open and the package gets placed inside. When the door is shut with the package inside, a code will generate a "delivered" message (to the package recipient). Scan that code when you arrive and your corresponding compartment will pop open for you to retrieve your package.”

The lockers can be utilized via a choice offered on the Amazon website. Shoppers can choose to have items go to a locker based on their zip code. When they put in their zip code and choose the option, the site will inform the shopper of where the nearest locker is located.

In addition to shoppers, the lockers can be used for returns of merchandise. Schafer detailed how that works. “When you use it for returns, Amazon will send you a barcode and you bring it along with your package. When you arrive, you scan the code (it can be a printed copy or on your phone) and a door will pop open. You put your package inside and close the door. When the locker is closed and the package is registered by the locker by being inside, it will send a message to Amazon that the package has been returned and your refund/exchange can process.”

The locker at the Quality Inn is located outside the building, so there is no need to go inside or to have contact with anyone in order to utilize the service. The locker service is also provided at no additional cost.
