The
following statement on Governor JB Pritzker’s FY 2022 budget can
be attributed to Illinois Association for Behavioral Health CEO
Jud DeLoss:
“During the 2018 gubernatorial election, Governor Pritzker
campaigned on his support for mental health and addiction
treatment, and he has kept his promise. The governor’s Fiscal
Year 2022 budget provides a 22% increase in addiction treatment
and a 3% bump for mental health services, and this money will be
crucial to fight the opioid overdoses breaking records in
counties such as Cook, DuPage, Lake and elsewhere in the state
in 2020 and to address the surging mental health needs triggered
during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is good news in a bad news
budget year.”
