It is our belief that she has
represented and diligently communicated to the citizens of Lincoln
through her letters to the editor, her dialogue in Wanda Lee’s
Talking points, and speaking at City Council meetings. The
communication she has provided represents researched and documented,
factual information. From her years of experience as a teacher and
counselor at Lincoln Community High School, her leadership at Main
Street Lincoln, and many other organizations, locally and
state-wide, and her dedication to improving the quality of life for
the residents of this community set her apart from other candidates.
Having served as an alderman, she became concerned about ordinances
which contained “we believe this to be in the best interest of the
citizens of Lincoln” because it was not readily visible that certain
items were in the best interest of the citizens. Her communications
earned her the title of “City Hall watchdog” and citizens have
appreciated being able to read information that clarifies issues
which have been questioned. It has been stated that alderman are the
cheerleaders for their Ward and she is. As a Logan County/Lincolnite
from the beginning, she is well anchored in the community with many
contacts through her career, social, religious, and political
relationships always with a desire to make Lincoln the best place to
be. [to

While she was the Main Street Lincoln
director, she wrote and received a $56,000 Bicentennial Grant which
provided, the bicentennial signage around Lincoln and Logan County,
the painting of Abraham Lincoln’s famous 1858 speech at the Heritage
Museum at Lincoln College, the kiosk on the Courthouse lawn, and the
re-enactment of the Abraham Lincoln’s 1858 speech on the Logan
County Courthouse grounds. She was also instrumental in placing the
fountain in Scully Park as well as the Lincoln Statue on the
Courthouse lawn.
Wanda earned a double Bachelor’s
Degree in Business Education and Business Administration; with
certification in Educational Administration and a Master’s Degree in
Human Development Counseling. She understands the complexity of the
legal and financial role of Councils as well as the collaboration
needed between the Citizens of Lincoln and those who manage their
money.
Her priorities include providing an environment conducive to
creating jobs, restoring quality city services, maintaining a safe
community, seeking financial sustainability, and partnering with
taxpayers to build a greater city. Mostly, she considers the
priorities of the citizens’ suggestions or concerns in order to
guide the decision making of the council. We ask for your vote on
