Springfield Lutheran defeats Mount Pulaski 59-50

[February 23, 2021]  The Hilltoppers traveled to Springfield Monday night to take on the Crusaders of Lutheran High School. The Crusaders kept the Hilltoppers just within arms reach the entire game and walked away with the 59-50 win.
The Hilltoppers fell behind 14-9 after the first quarter and trailed just 22-20 at the half. After three quarters of play the Crusaders lead was 37-29. In the final quarter the Crusaders put away the 59-50 victory, despite Grant Davis and Joshua Lawson combining for 15 of the Hilltoppers 21 fourth quarter points.

Mount Pulaski was led in scoring by Grant Davis with 13 points. Joshua Lawson scored 10 points for the Hilltoppers.

Mount Pulaski falls to 6-2 on the season.
In the JV game, Mount Pulaski beat the Crusaders by a final of 64-45.
Clay Aylesworth led the Hilltoppers with 16 points. Daniel McCormick tossed in 15 points and Landon Smith scored 11 points for Mount Pulaski.
Mount Pulaski will host Greenview Friday night. The JV game will start at 6 p.m. The Varsity game will start at 7:30 p.m.
