“It
has been a distinct honor to serve the people of the18th
Congressional District of Illinois over the last five years in
the United States Congress. I am humbled to be sworn in today to
continue representing the over 700,000 constituents in central
and west-central Illinois.
"Although we enter the 117th Congress deeply divided
politically, I am hopeful that we can find common ground on
policies to support our region and state and get us through the
COVID-19 pandemic.
"Since first being elected in 2015, I have made it a priority to
provide exceptional constituent service and advance policies
that support hardworking families in Illinois. As a member of
the Ways and Means Committee, I intend to continue advancing a
pro-growth, pro-trade agenda that will spur economic growth in
our rural communities and helps Illinoisans recover from the
coronavirus pandemic. These priorities will continue to guide me
as I work to address our nation’s challenges while voting on
behalf of our Midwestern values held across the 18th District.”
