Obituary
Carol S. Coombs, 76 of Lincoln passed
away at 4:04 pm on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at
St. Johns Hospital.
Carol was born on May 23, 1944, daughter of Raymond
Gee, and Verna (Centers) Gee. Carol was raised in
Mount Pulaski and graduated from Mount Pulaski High
School in 1962. Carol married John T. Coombs on
October 9, 1964 in Mount Pulaski. John preceded her
in death in March 2013. Carol was also preceded in
death by her parents, an infant sister Judith Gee,
and brothers Raymond Gee, and David Gee. Carol is
survived by her two daughters, Laura (Steven)
Charron and Brenda (Bryan) Hatfield both of Lincoln,
and her sister Jan (Gene) Bowers of Paris, TN.
Carol worked at Lehn and Fink (where she and John
met), Spurgeons, Mel O Cream and retired from Eaton
after 34 years of service. |
Carol was very artistic and enjoyed
painting. She was known for her hand painted
Christmas cards and ornaments.
She enjoyed hosting Thursday mornings
at Carol’s Coffee Café with her girlfriends. She
always said she loved how much they laughed through
their mornings at the Café.
A graveside service for Carol will be 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, January 2, 2021 at New Union Cemetery in
Lincoln, with Larry Crawford officiating. Memorials
may be made to Relay for Life of Logan County.
