Recently, CV associates Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe and
Terry Davis had the opportunity to honor Harold and Joyce Centers.
This extraordinary couple has faithfully served the residents on
Sunday mornings for the past 25 years.
The Centers started volunteering when Joyce’s mother, Agnes Waldeck,
moved into the Village in 1995. They set up for church, picked out
the music, prepared communion, brought residents to the services,
led the singing, and whatever else was required to provide sacred
worship for God’s people.
Edgecombe stated, “Harold and Joyce are true gifts from God.” He
continued, “Words cannot express
the gratitude that our ministry has for these partners in our
ministry.”
The Centers’ were presented with a plaque which reads: “Celebrating
25 years of volunteer service: Harold and Joyce Centers.“
Everyone at The Christian Village campus is grateful for this
couple, who have made Sunday Worship services possible for so long
for the residents.

Hebrews 10:25 “Let us not give
up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us
encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of
the Lord is coming nearer.”
The Village, since its inception in 1962, has continually changed
and evolved to suit the needs of the community it serves. The
Village today offers independent living duplex homes and apartments,
skilled nursing facilities as well as long-term memory care and a
short term transitional facility offering therapy services and other
support for those on the journey from hospital to home.
