 To the editor:Today I am
writing to you all with a feeling of hope. Right now, in our
building and in other healthcare facilities across the state, we are
working hard to vaccinate as many residents and staff against
COVID-19 as possible. While we are still learning about this virus
on an almost daily basis, vaccinating all those who are willing and
able is a vital part of this process. This step, gives me hope that
we will be able to welcome families back into our halls again - your
voices and energy is sorely missed.
While we do have reasons to hope, we also recognize that the
pandemic is far from over. We still have restrictions in place in
the Facility, including restricted visitation, limited activities,
and no communal dining. These measures are essential to help prevent
any spread in our setting. We will continue to engage in enhanced
infection control procedures and follow all applicable guidance.
Please continue to reach out to the Facility for virtual visits -
many of our residents light up to get to see their loved ones, even
if not in person.
For residents and staff who are still undecided regarding the
vaccine, there will still be an opportunity to change your mind.
Please contact the Facility if you have any questions or if you
would like to make an appointment for your loved one.

 I ask that you read the information available that
we have provided, as well as that which is published and available
online. As we already informed you, the vaccine being used in our
facility is the one provided by Pfizer. There is a great deal of
promising information available out there and I hope that it will
help you make this important decision.
Our staff and residents are routinely tested for the virus. Updates
as to our testing results can be found on the Facility's website. We
also screen staff and residents multiple times throughout the day,
and we are on top of even the smallest sniffle. Enhanced PPE is used
throughout the building, and we are working hard to prevent spread
whenever and wherever possible.
We wish you the best as we start this New Year. I look forward to
the day that we invite you all back to visit your loved ones.
