[January 27, 2021]  Austin Reaves scored 23 points, including a pair of crucial free throws late, as No. 24 Oklahoma outlasted short-handed No. 5 Texas 80-79 in Austin, Texas.

The Sooners, who have won four straight, led by nine at halftime and by a dozen early in the second half before Texas pulled within 78-77 on a Matt Coleman III layup with 37 seconds to play. Reaves then canned a pair of free throws with 18.3 seconds left before Andrew Jones countered with two free throws for the Longhorns, but Texas couldn't get off a shot in the final seconds.

De'Vion Harmon added 13 points for the Sooners (10-4, 6-3 Big 12) while Umoja Gibson had 12 and Elijah Harkless scored 11.

Texas (11-3, 5-2) was without Courtney Ramey, Jericho Sims and Brock Cunningham as well as coach Shaka Smart due to coronavirus protocols. Kai Jones paced the Longhorns with 15 points.



No. 9 Alabama 70, Kentucky 59

Jaden Shackelford scored 21 points to help the Crimson Tide finish off a regular-season sweep of the Wildcats at Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Herbert Jones recorded 13 points, nine rebounds and eight assists as Alabama (14-3, 9-0 Southeastern Conference) stretched its winning streak to 10 games. It is the program's first double-digit winning streak since the 1996-97 squad won its first 10 games.

Dontaie Allen scored 12 points on four 3-pointers for Kentucky (5-10, 4-4), which has lost four of its past five games.

Auburn 88, No. 12 Missouri 82

Freshman Sharife Cooper matched his season high with 28 points to rally host Auburn to a victory over Missouri.

JT Thor added 12 points for Auburn (10-7, 4-5 SEC) while Allen Flanigan and Chris Moore put up 11 points each.

Dru Smith scored a season-high 21 points and Jeremiah Tilmon recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds to lead Missouri (10-3, 4-3).

No. 18 Tennessee 56, Mississippi State 53

The Volunteers hung on to beat the Bulldogs in Knoxville, Tenn., to end their two-game Southeastern Conference losing streak.

Yves Pons led Tennessee (11-3, 5-3 SEC) with 13 points. Pons, who sat out most of the first half in foul trouble and later fouled out, hit 6 of 9 shots. Jaden Springer, who sat out the last two games with an ankle injury, returned for the Volunteers and responded with nine points, four rebounds and five assists.

Iverson Molinar led Mississippi State (9-8, 4-5) with 16 points, and D.J. Stewart added 11 points.

Dayton 76, No. 22 Saint Louis 71

Jalen Crutcher scored 27 points to lead the Flyers past the Billikens in St. Louis. Ibi Watson scored 18 points and Elijah Weaver added 12 for Dayton (9-4, 5-3 Atlantic 10 Conference).

Javonte Perkins led Saint Louis (7-2, 0-1) with 20 points. Hasahn French had 16 points and Jordan Goodwin amassed 11 points and 11 rebounds.

The contest was the A-10 opener for the Billikens, who had been sidelined since Dec. 23 due to a sweeping COVID-19 issue within their program. Their first seven league games were postponed.
