He spent many years working as a
welder at Fiat Allis, then worked in security at
Lincoln Development Center until both of their
closures.
He had fond appreciation of his
familial connections to Chicago & was a faithful
subscriber to the Chicago Sun Times. He enjoyed the
convenience of living in a small town & never
knowing a stranger. An avid sports fan, he never
missed a Cubs game on WGN. He was often seen
cheering on his grandkids & great grandkids when
they were Hartem Stags, LJHS Trojans, WLB Wolverines
and Lincoln Railers. He was a McDonald’s coffee gang
regular & always had a story to pass on. Donald will
be forever remembered & missed for his ornery grin,
his tendency to wave his finger to get his point
across and his love for his family.
Most recently a resident of Copper Creek, he enjoyed
visiting with fellow residents & visitors. The
family would like to extend a special thanks to the
staff at Copper Creek, Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital, Memorial Medical Center in Springfield,
and Memorial Hospice.
Family requests memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s
Association.
Peasley Funeral Home is assisting the family with
arrangements.
