Beverly and Kim Palmer would like you to join
them on July 9, 2021 for a graveside service immediately followed by
lunch to honor the life of Harold (Hoppy) Palmer.
The funeral procession will leave Calvert Funeral
Home in Clinton, at 10:30 am. The graveside service will be held at
the Baptist cemetery east of Kenney officiated by Chaplin Henry
Johnson from the Logan County Correctional Center, with lunch being
provided at the Kenney Civic League. They look forward to being back
in Kenney surrounded by family and friends during this time. The
family ask to wear casual attire.

Obituary
Harold Obourn Palmer, 84, previously
of Kenney, passed away at Banner Baywood Medical
Center, Mesa Arizona.
Harold would like to let you know that his work here
is done. He received a call on April 16, 2021 at
10:10 pm with an offer he just couldn’t refuse, for
an assignment to continue to serve and will not be
returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on
bonus, a reunion with family and friends, especially
his son Wayne Harold Palmer. He left detailed
instructions with his wife and daughter who were
present when he accepted this assignment to
celebrate and not mourn the completion of his long
and happy mission here.
Harold was born July 10, 1936 in Bloomington,
the son of Roy and Alma Palmer. He married Beverly
A. Meadows on February 5, 1961 in Clinton.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Beverly
Palmer (Mesa, AZ) and daughter Kimberly Palmer
(Mesa, AZ).
Harold was preceded in death by his parents (Alma
and Roy), son (Wayne), brother (Howard) and
step-mother (Irene).
Harold was proud to have served his country (United
States Navy – servicing on the USS Midway), his
state (Department of Corrections as a Lieutenant at
the Logan County Correctional Facility and his
community in which he called home for over 40 years
as a volunteer fireman, village marshal and village
trustee.
Service will be held Friday, July 9th. Funeral
procession will leave Calvert Funeral Home in
Clinton at 10:30 a.m.. Service will be held at 11:00
a.m. at the Baptist Cemetery east of Kenney with
lunch provide immediately following at the Heritage
Center on Main Street in Kenney.
Memorials can be made to the Kenney Fire Protection
District.
Letters of condolences can be mailed
to Beverly Palmer at 650 N. Hawes Road, Lot 3401 in
Mesa, Arizona 85207. |
