[June 01, 2021]  LINCOLN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Holy Family Church for Evelyn Ryan Fitzpatrick, 93, of Lincoln, and her daughter Joan "Joni" Fitzpatrick Marten, 60, of Lincoln.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, May 28, 2021, at Holy Family Church

Service:  11:00 a.m. Friday at the Church

Rosary:  9:30 a.m. at the church

Funeral home: Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Holy Family Church at 11:00 a.m. for Evelyn Ryan Fitzpatrick, 93, of Lincoln, and Joan "Joni" Fitzpatrick Marten, 60, of Lincoln.

A Rosary Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church, followed by visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Due to continuing Covid-19 concerns, attendees are asked to wear masks and social distance.

The service will be live streamed at www.LoganCountyCatholic.org through the Logan County Catholic Community Facebook page.

Evelyn Frances Ryan was born on March 29, 1927, in Lincoln, the daughter of Louis and Marie (Hegele) Ryan. She was united in marriage to Gregory E. Fitzpatrick on June 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2018. Evelyn passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at her home.

Surviving Evelyn are her children: Louie (Sue) Fitzpatrick, Deb Curry, Peggy (Greg) Morrow; daughter-in-law: Peggy Fitzpatrick, sons-in-law: Philip Ripa and Galen Marten; one sister: La Donna Mahler; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, infant sons: William Paul and James Gregory, son: Joseph Edward Fitzpatrick, daughters: Mary Beth Ripa and Joan Marie Marten; grandson: Brock Ryan Endres; two sisters: Lucille Young and Mary McDowell; and one brother: Robert Ryan.

Memorials in Evelyn's memory may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Knights of Columbus #1250.

Joan "Joni" Fitzpatrick Marten, 60



Joan Marie Fitzpatrick was born in Lincoln on February 16, 1960, the daughter of Gregory Edward and Evelyn Francis Ryan Fitzpatrick. Joni passed away at her home on Sunday, April 19, 2020. She passed away surrounded by her family after a courageous seven-year battle with colon cancer.

Joni was the beloved wife of Galen – the love of her life for 40 years; loving mother of Sarah (Patrick) LaPorta, Ashley (Chris) Phillips, Kelly (Alex) French, and Dr. Kristen Marten; proud NeNe of Quinn, Owen, and Noah French, Ryker and Maren Phillips, and Evelyn LaPorta; brother, Louie (Sue) Fitzpatrick; sisters: Deb Curry and Peggy (Greg) Morrow; and countless nieces and nephews.

Joni's family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church Interior Renovation Fund.

Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of Lincoln.
