Lincoln tied the game in the top of the third inning on an RBI
single by Tanner Strampp.
The Cyclones led off with a single in the bottom of the fourth
inning. One out later, a batter reached after being hit by a
pitch. After two outs, the Cyclones hit back-to-back doubles and
took a 4-1 lead.
In the bottom of the sixth inning the Cyclones added an RBI
single.
The Railsplitters were retired quickly in the top of the seventh
inning on nine pitches.
Sacred Heart Griffin won the game by a final score of 5-1.
Three Sacred Heart Griffin pitchers combined to strike out eight
Railsplitters.
Tanner Strampp threw the complete game for Lincoln, taking the
loss. Strampp allowed five runs on eight hits. He struck out
four batters and walked one.
Lincoln had four hits versus the Cyclones.
Lucas Konczyk, Patrick McCraith, Dylan Singleton and Tanner
Strampp had hits for Lincoln.
The Railsplitters fall to 16-8 on the season.
Lincoln will host Mattoon today in a doubleheader beginning at
11 a.m.
The Railsplitters will play Mount Vernon on Sunday in St.
Louis at Busch Stadium. The game will begin at 4:00 p.m. and
admission is free to this game.
