Mason City man arrested for
possession of child pornography

Springfield, IL – Illinois State Police (ISP) Division of Criminal
Investigations (DCI) officials announce the arrest of Cole D.
Harris, 25-year-old male of Mason City, Illinois for Possession of
Child Pornography.
On January 21, 2021, ISP DCI Zone 4 Investigators initiated an
investigation after learning that a subject was distributing child
pornography via social media applications. A thorough investigation
ensued, and during the course of the investigation ISP Investigators
assigned to the Office of the Illinois Attorney General Internet
Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC) gathered evidence
supporting the arrest.
On March 22, 2021, a search warrant was applied for and granted for
the residence of Cole Harris through the Mason County Circuit Court.
The search warrant was executed on March 23, 2021 and additional
evidence was collected. On May 26, 2021 the Mason County State’s
Attorney’s Office approved four counts of Possession of Child
Pornography (Class 2 Felony) against Harris. An arrest warrant was
issued for Harris and bond was set at $100,000/10% to apply. On May
27, 2021 Harris turned himself in at the Mason County Jail and was
released on bond.
