Open house June 6th

[June 01, 2021]   Ann Holloway of Lincoln will be honored at an Open House at the Oasis Senior Center in Lincoln, on Sunday June 6, 2021 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. celebrating her 102nd birthday.

Ann grew up in Sterling, Illinois and her father worked on the railroad. When she was a ‘young girl’ she spent time at a swimming pool where the lifeguard was Ronald Reagan from Dixon. He was eight years older than Ann.

In 2003, at the age of 83 she moved to Lincoln to be near her grandchildren. She became active at the Oasis when it was downtown, enjoying Bingo and potlucks.

She remains a member of the Oasis and enjoying time spent there until the pandemic came.

Ann has always been a homemaker and still prefers to cook her own meals. She has no written recipes from her mother as because her mother never learned to write in her native Italian or English.

So all of Ann’s cooking of her favorites from mother are done by memory and even so taste pretty good!

The community is invited to attend the open house on Sunday and help Ann to celebrate her milestone birthday.
