The Lady Railers softball season came to an end on Wednesday
in Regional action as Mahomet-Seymour took out Lincoln by a
final score of 9-1.
The Lady Railers lone run came in the first inning on a
two-out home run to center by sophomore Cara Farnam.
The Bulldogs took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first
inning.
In the bottom of the third inning Mahomet-Seymour added two
more runs.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, a bases loaded double by
Chloe Truax plated three runs.
Two more runs crossed the plate in the bottom of the sixth
inning for the Bulldogs.
The Lady Railers were retired quickly in the top of the
seventh inning without any threat to score.
Mahomet-Seymour ends Lincoln’s season with a 9-1 victory.
Karley Yergler earned the win for the Bulldogs. She tossed
the complete seven innings, allowing two hits and one run.
She struck out 12 Lady Railers.
Cara Farnam took the loss for Lincoln. She tossed six
innings, giving up nine runs on 12 hits. She struck out five
batters.
Farnam and Riley Tungate had the only hits for Lincoln.
The Lady Railers end the season with a 10-15 record.
