Obituary
Ronnie C. Burden, 77, of Waynesville
passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 5,
2021, at 3:00 p.m. at the Quiram Peasley Funeral
Home in Atlanta.
A Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00
p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021, at the Quiram
Peasley Funeral Home.
Burial will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery
in Waynesville.
Ronnie C. Burden was born on April 14, 1944, in
Rockport, Indiana, the son of Frank and Rena
Fulkerson Burden. He was united in marriage to Jill
Coppenbarger. She survives.
Also surviving are his children: Rick (Shannon
Stephenson) Burden, Cris (Mike) Hardwick; four
grandchildren: Michael Hardwick, Jessica (Ricky)
Monkman, April Phillips, and Jeff Bryan, II; six
great-grandchildren: Isaiah , Elijah, Marley,
Jillian, Oliver, and Danny; two sisters: Jean Gordon
and Janie (Fred) McWhorter; and one brother: David
Burden. |
He was preceded in death by his
parents, one granddaughter: Niki Burden, and three
sisters.
Ronnie owned and operated Burden Detasseling Company
for 60 years and was a member of Laborers Local #362
for 57 years.
His hobbies included hosting and attending Mud
Drags, gardening, spending the winters in Daytona,
Florida, and spending time with his grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Waynesville Fire
Department or American Diabetes Association.
Quiram Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
