Obituary
Sidney Petro, 74, passed away at his
home surrounded by his loving family on June 19,
2021.
Sidney was born on April 4, 1947, in Lincoln, son of
Robert and Dorothy (Manley) Petro. He married Linda
Naugle on October 23, 1965, in Lincoln. She survives
him.
Also surviving Sidney is his step mother: Donna
Petro of Lincoln, his daughters: Angela (Joe) Miller
of Lincoln, Kathy (Perry) Payne of Lawndale, and
Stacy (Chad) Leamon of Mason City; grandchildren:
Jenna (Dalton) Worthington, Megan Payne, and Jacob
Meister; step grandchildren: Mary Leamon and Brayden
Leamon; two great-grandchildren: Leighton and Soren
Worthington; his siblings: Judi Sanders of Lincoln,
Roberta Beecraft of Chestnut, and Phyllis Schafer of
Lincoln.
Sidney was preceded in death by his parents, two
sisters: Linda Presswood and Carolyn Kelly, and one
brother: Roger Petro.

Sidney worked at U. S. Corrugated,
Illinois Terminal Railroad, Norfolk Southern
Railroad, and Trinity Towers.
He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, wood working, watching
classic western movies, playing with the dogs, but
above all he loved spending time with his family,
especially the grandchildren.
Services for Sidney will be 11:00 a.m. Friday June
25, 2021, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Thursday, June 24, 2021, also at the funeral home.
Burial at Lawndale Cemetery will follow the service.
Memorials may be made in Sidney’s name to the
Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes
Association.
