- Landon Hullinger leads
Railers with 23 points
[March 03, 2021]
Lincoln hosted Jacksonville
Monday night at Roy S. Anderson Gymnasium and seniors Landon
Hullinger and Dylan Singleton combined to score 40 points as the
Railers won 47-24 over the Crimson.
Landon Hullinger started the scoring for Lincoln with a three and he
was just getting warmed up.
Points in the paint by Dylan Singleton and Brody Whiteman put the
Railers up 7-2.
The Railers shot out to a 12-4 first quarter lead after a layup by
Singleton and two more points from Hullinger in the lane.
Hullinger really heated up in the second quarter. His field goal
early in the quarter put the Railers up by double-digits, 14-4 the
score.
With under four minutes left in the quarter, Hullinger connected for
three 3s in a row. The senior, who was due for a big scoring night,
put Lincoln up 25-12.
The half ended with a Singleton steal and his coast-to-coast layup
that was good. Lincoln was cruising at the half, 27-12 the lead.
The third quarter was all about the threes for Lincoln. Singleton
got a couple open looks from the outside and he took advantage of
the opportunity.
Hullinger also hit another three in the quarter.
When the two seniors weren’t launching the ball from the outside,
they were moving inside, sinking baskets and drawing fouls. Both men
converted on their 'and ones' late in the quarter and the Railers
had a 42-23 lead as the third quarter ended.
The fourth quarter sailed by. Singleton stretched the lead to 44-23
early. The Railers bench then saw a lot of playing time in the
fourth quarter.
Andrew Graue would complete the scoring for the Railers
with a three. Lincoln takes the 47-24 win over Jacksonville.
Landon Hullinger led Lincoln with 23 points. Dylan Singleton scored 17
points for the Railers.
Lincoln improves to 11-2 on the season.
